YAY!!!

Questions

1. The original image was 8.64 inches by 12.96 inches.

2. The new photo will be 8.64 inches by 17 inches. This photo has a space of 8.64 inches by 4.04 inces added on to the left side of the image

3. The "blue line" is a guide.

4. To duplicate the background layer click and drag it to the new layer button that is to the left of the trash icon. To delete it drag the duplicate layer into the trash.

5. To make a new folder, click the new folder butto between the adjustments and new layer icons.

6. The background layer is outside of the folder. To move the background to the folder you have to duplicate the background and then drag the copy into the folder then lock the duplicate and delete the original background. You have to make a duplicate layer of the background because the background can't be moved or unlocked when it is the only layer.

1) The Gradient tool is the box that fades from black to white while the pen tool has a picture of the point of a fountain pen. The shape tool is below the text tool and can have either a square or other custom polygons on it.

2)With these settings applied the gradient tool would make a gradient from bottom to top, the top being white.

3)To change the gradient transition-click the button second to the left under the photoshop button, this will open a menu where you can choose what transition you would like to use.

4)With these setting you would make vector art you know this because the paths layer is not selected.

5)This is not a closed path because there are still anchor that are unconnected.

6)Select rectangle from the shapes menu and the this rectangle would be black.

7)To change to circle click and hold on the rectangle button until the menu pops up then you will be able to select circle.

8)300 dpi is the right setting for computer screen resolution.

9)dpi stands for dots per inch

10) The images would print the same size the only difference is that one is zoomed in farther on the screen than the other.

Bonus- ppi stands for pixels per inch.

1) this is the new ego 10 (paintball gun). This ad is showing all of the different colors that it is being offered in.

2)The text that I choose to examine is the writing on the top of the page. The serif appears to be pointed. The weight is normal. The contrast is high. The stress seems to be right-angled.

3)I think that the text was good for this ad because I believe that the ad is trying to show that this gun is the best or royal and that was the idea I got when I saw that text. Also the text is different from the fonts of the rest of the ad so the viewers eye is drawn to it.

Best thing ever

I took this photo today when i was getting off the bus.

This is my family photograph.I believe that this came out quite well but there a deffinatly a few things both Formaly and conceptualy that i could change to make it better. I had been expirementing with the idea of using shadows and siluets in my pictures in other projects. This photo was an extension of work thaat I had already done. In this photograph the formal and conceptual issues overlap but I will try to keep them seperate as best I can.
Formaly there is one big problem and that is quite obvious. There is a table in the forground which blocks the center pf the photo. The table was there because my face (the one that is cut out) did not have enough light, and the small spot light I had was not strong enough to reach from any farther tham the table. If i were to do this again i would find a better spotlight. Another problem is that the people are to crowded together. What I really needed to take this photo was a much large sheet and to move the camera back so that the actors could have more room.
Conceptualy I am satisfied with the photo. my family were good actors and sports and it resulted in what I think to be and interesting photo. My mother was a bit sloched over and if she had been standing strait I think that I could have better captured her siluet. Also as I said before the sheet that I used was not big enough. This resulted in my family having to squish together. Personaly I do not like that effect and would have like each person to have been more defined.

Emulation project Post four
I am choosing to emulate the photographer Robin Rhode. The reason that I choose him over other artists is because of his unique style. I think that the way that he mixes the two and three D objects is really interesting. This is demonstrated in the work that I have seen of his which included the pictures where he would draw things on a wall with what looked like chalk and then have a model pose as if he were interacting with them. This is the main idea that I want to emulate, the mixing of two and three D objects. The other reason that Robin Rhodes work appealed to me was because it was relatively simple to produce and capture but it was still interesting. For example to emulate other photographers I would need special tool or scenery that I would probably not have access to. The whole idea of Robin Rhode’s work is simple but very clever and I believe that is one of that factors that makes it so interesting.
I plan to emulate Robin by taking scenes that a person might see in every day life and ad pictures of things to them that would fit. For example one of the ideas that I had was to make a still life of fruit that had booth real fruit and drawings of fruit. I also plan try changing shadow. I think that with good lighting that I can make it so that the viewer would have to really look to tell the difference. Another idea that I had was to either make or find a full size drawing of a person and then mix it in with real live models. Because of the lack of pictures of full size people I was thinking that I could find advertisements(billboards…) and use the people in them, while putting real people in the photo with them.

Part 2 Emulation Project
Ansel Adams Used a film camera and took her pictures in black and white. Ansel's pictures are mostly of land scape sceans so I would assume that his photographs were taken out side using natural lights. During the time that he lived photo shop didn't exist, thus we can assume that he used traditional methods of editing which I do not understand. I believe that Ansel would have worked alone.

Robin Rhode is a contemporary Photographer. He uses digital photography. I believe that he used natural light for his pictures because most are taken outside on a wall, although it is possible that he used artificial light because their don't seem to be any shadows. I do not believe that any edits were made but if there were they were slight another reason i do not believe that edits were made is because the idea behind the photographs was to make an allusions by mixing 2d and 3d objects. I think that Robin could have had a bunch of assistants but i believe that it is more likely that he worked alone.


Esteban Pastorino Diaz uses digital photography. The lighting used is defiantly natural because he is using a camera attached to a kite(KAP). He uses a special lens (tilt shift) that allows him distort the image giving it the appearance that it is a model. I read that he works alone, this is difficult for him because he can not see through the view finder when he is using the kite to take pictures.
